Wally Wells Bio


WALLY WELLS P. Eng., Executive  Director, Asset Management BC

Wally Wells is a professional engineer with 48 years of experience, over 20 of which have been in  asset management. Most of his career was spent in Ontario relocating to BC 12 years ago.

He was on the Governing Council of 'InfraGuide" and, for 4 years, the National Asset Management Working Group which produced and published the National Framework for Asset Management.  For the past 8 years he has been Executive Director of Asset Management BC, a community of practice serving all BC local governments and First Nations.  He has overseen and directed the evolution of the network into a major partnership for ”INTEGRATED” asset management plus assisted several other Provinces and Territories in establishing similar Communities of Practice. He has a comprehensive background for asset management strategies, programs and barriers. He is a member of the FCM ‘Municipal Asset Management Program’ Technical Committee and a representative for AM BC to the Communities of Practice national meetings. AM BC has produced a number of tools for asset management and publishes a newsletter distributed across Canada and 5 other countries now in the 23rd  edition. It is considered the premier asset management newsletter in Canada.
