The deadline for submitting an application to Host an Intern for the 2010 - 2011 Internship Program is December 14th, 2009.

The deadline for Intern candidates to submit an application is January 29th, 2010.

Now in its third year, the Ontario Municipal Internship Program was developed by AMCTO (The Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks and Treasurers of Ontario) in partnership with the Ontario Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MAH) In order to address the critical need to attract and train the next generation of competent well-rounded municipal leaders. During the program year, the management intern will gain hands-on experience in key function areas under the supervision of a Chief Administrative Officer or designate. The program will provide 50 per cent funding (up to $20,000 per intern) to participating municipalities to subsidize intern salaries, plus up to $5,000 per intern for ongoing training and other ancillary expenses.
