About the Program
AMCTO is now accepting applications from prospective Host Municipalities and Intern candidates interested in participating in the Ontario Municipal Internship pilot program for 2009-2010.
Now in it’s third year, the Ontario Municipal Internship Program was developed by AMCTO (The Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks and Treasurers of Ontario) in partnership with the Ontario Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MAH) Ontario In order to address the critical need to attract and train the next generation of competent well-rounded municipal leaders.
The submission deadline for interested host municipalities is December 15th, 2008
The submission deadline for applications from interested intern candidates is January 28th, 2009.
During the program year, the intern will gain hands-on experience in key function areas under the supervision of a Chief Administrative Officer or similar designate. The program will provide 50 per cent funding (up to $20,000 per intern) to participating municipalities to subsidize intern salaries, plus up to $5,000 per intern for ongoing training and other ancillary expenses.
We invite you to participate in this exciting venture. The 2009-2010 program will commence in June of 2009. |
