Developing a successful council or board orientation program is key to bringing your newly appointed and elected officials up to speed on specific matters that are important to your municipality, agency, or commission. This three-day virtual workshop series is designed to support municipal clerks and other senior administrators in developing a creative approach to on-boarding and engaging new stakeholders.

Just as you would with new staff, people need to understand how your department works and what the expectations are in terms of roles and responsibilities, vision and mandate. Throughout this series we will address key components to be included in your council or board orientation and outline some best practices on how to build, present, and implement a successful and engaging program.

Learning Outcomes:

Join us to learn why council on-boarding programs are important, the different roles and responsibilities for developing a successful program, what to include in your orientation packages and the necessary tools you'll need in order to effectively engage your appointed members!
