New to the world of municipal finance? Join us for this all-new interactive workshop that will provide an overview of the fundamentals of the municipal financial system. We’ll go through the key principles and best practices, what’s involved in budgeting including operating and capital budgets, financial reporting requirements, the municipal purchasing process and considerations for long-term financial planning. This workshop will also provide an overview of current legislation that impacts accounting and financial management.

About the Instructor
Gayle Frost
Municipal Consultant, G Frost Consulting
Gayle Frost is a former Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and Finance Officer who served the County of Prince Edward for 20 years as the Commissioner of Corporate Services/Treasurer, where her portfolio was responsible for the clerk’s department, treasury, human resources, fire, home for the aged, economic development, provincial offences, and information technology (IT) departments, as well as contracted services of land ambulance, policing, legal and audit. During that time, she also worked on projects with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, and municipal peer groups. Since her retirement, Gayle has been working as a municipal consultant/advisor and facilitating municipal leadership and finance programs for a local college.
