We are catching up on sharing a number of interesting pieces of news, reports, and other information on the municipal sector. Here are a few items of interest. 
Assessment Review Board Training
MFOA is holding a two part webinar on municipal involvement in Assessment Review Board ARB Appeals. The webinar were developed in collaboration with OMTRA and MPAC’s Joint Education Working Group.  Part 1 registration here. Part 2 registration here.
Mandatory Mask Bylaws
As more municipalities are adopting mandatory face mask bylaws and policies, AMO has an expanding section on its COVID-19 Resources page on mandatory face masks bylaws/directives for information to municipal governments considering similar bylaws.

Urban Policy Observatory 
Gabriel Eidelman and Neil Bradford have proposed the creation of a Canadian Urban Policy Observatory  which would be a one-window place for learnings and best practices, collaboration and innovation. For a quick hit of what is being proposed, check out the Policy Options article they wrote with Canadian Urban Institute’s Kate Graham, “Our Cities and city-regions Needs an Urban Policy Observatory.”  
Playbook for Voluntary Regional Governance in the Toronto Region
In a paper for IMFG’s Perspective, Gabriel Eidelman, Michael Fenn and André Côté have proposed a “playbook” to creating more effective regional governance in the Toronto region. They have also put together a companion one-pager/placemat.
Rural Well-Being
The Rural Ontario Institute commissioned a report on Rural Well-Being which provides a benchmark of wellbeing for rural Ontario using the eight domains of the Canadian Wellbeing Index (CWI). Read the report here. Take a look at the indicators here.
