AMO Webinar on New Fire Regulations

CATEGORIES: Emergency Services

The Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) is hosting a webinar to discuss the province's proposed new regulations for fire services. See below for a message from AMO:

As you may be aware, the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services (MCSCS) released three proposed regulations under the Fire Protection and Prevention Act, 1997 (FPPA) related to new requirements for:

  • Mandatory Training and Certification for Firefighters;

  • Community Risk Assessments to Inform the Delivery of Fire Protection Services; and,

  • Public Reporting and Fire Department Response Times.

AMO will be responding with comments on all three regulations, and are encouraging municipal councils with fire services to do the same. We appreciate the efforts of local governments to respond, as it is important that the province receives a full set of consultation responses that reflect the diversity of Ontario’s municipalities.

To assist with the responses, AMO will be hosting a 45-minute webinar on Wednesday, March 7th from 12:00-12:45pm to explain the positions that AMO will be taking on the regulations and answer any questions you have. The technology we are using allows you the opportunity to pose questions in real-time, as well as to view the webinar slides. Please be aware that these capabilities are only available if using the computer, not for those dialing in.

Please register for the webinar here to guarantee your spot:
Note that the webinar is only open to municipal staff, and you will receive a confirmation email when your registration has been received.
