Bill 148 Passes Third Reading

Bill 148 the Fair Workplaces, Better Jobs Act, has passed third reading and will now become law. The legislation will raise Ontario's minimum wage to $15, mandate equal pay for part-time, temporary, casual and seasonal work, and extend personal emergency leave for all employees, amongst other measures. The bill was amended during committee hearings to provide exemptions for essential public services, such as fire, utility, and snow removal.
