COVID-19 Update: Face Coverings and Additional Health Measures

On Friday, October 2nd, the Province announced additional measures to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

While a number of municipalities have mandatory mask by-laws , the Province has made amendments O. Reg 364/20 (Rules for Areas in Stage 3 under the Reopening Ontario [A Flexible Response to COVID-19] Act, 2020) mandating the use of face coverings province-wide as of Saturday, October 3rd 2020 with some exceptions.  The updated regulation was just posted.
 
Additional measures were put in regulation O.Reg 546/20, for “enhanced measures zone” which, at the current time, are the City of Ottawa Health Unit, the City of Toronto Health Unit, and the Peel Regional Health Unit. Such measures include: setting indoor capacity limits at restaurants, and other food and drink establishments; restricting group exercise classes to 10 people and restricting the total number of persons in these facilities to 50 and; setting limits on the number of people at meeting and event facilities such as banquet halls to a maximum of 50 people per facility and six people to a table.
