Leadership Stream

The CDP Leadership Stream is for experienced municipal staff currently in or aspiring to senior leadership positions. This package exposes participants to municipal-specific management and leadership content, allowing you to showcase a robust leadership skillset. It offers focused and practical learning opportunities to keep you ahead of the curve of the ever-evolving municipal leadership landscape.

Prerequisites

Participants in the Leadership Stream must have:

  • Minimum three (3) years’ management/leadership experience in a municipality (or related organization)
  • Completed the Municipal Administration Program (MAP)
  • Experience in or ability to gain experience in the following competencies for the Certified Municipal Officer (CMO) designation:
    • Municipal Operations
    • Communication
    • Service Delivery
    • Government Relations & Citizen Engagement
    • Strategic & Organizational Management
    • Human Resources Management
    • Financial Management
    • Leadership

Package Overview

Upon successful completion of the package, participants will receive:

  • AMCTO Executive Diploma in Municipal Management 
  • AMCTO-Ivey Canadian Municipal Leadership Accelerator program certificate and digital badge
  • Professional development hours for participation in two (2) AMCTO annual Forums
  • One-on-one professional development as a Mentor in the AMCTO Mentorship Program
  • Granting of the Certified Municipal Officer (CMO) designation by the AMCTO Board of Directors
