Update from AGCO re New Gaming Opportunities

The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) has announced two new gaming opportunities as part of the Government’s effort to support community initiatives: a Progressive Jackpot Raffle and A Social Gaming Licence.

Progressive Jackpot Raffle

The Government is introducing a new fundraising opportunity for the Royal Canadian Legion and other eligible service clubs to conduct and manage a Progressive Jackpot Raffle.

A Progressive Jackpot Raffle is a multiple-draw game where the prize may be either won or carried over from one draw to the next.

Eligible service clubs will be able to apply to run a Progressive Jackpot Raffle using the existing blanket raffle licence issued by municipalities and First Nations with an Order-in-Council.

Social Gaming Licence

The Government is introducing a new Social Gaming Licence, issued exclusively by the AGCO, for casual social gaming activities like cribbage, bridge or bingo.

The Social Gaming Licence is widely available to community groups, seniors’ groups, social and service clubs that host casual social gaming events in public places. The licence became available on the AGCO’s online portal, iAGCO, on December 2, 2021.
