Parliamentary Meeting Protocol Course

The course consists of eight lessons:

• Lesson 1: The Deliberative Assembly - Types and Rules, Meetings and Sessions
• Lesson 2: The Conduct of Business in a Deliberative Assembly and Description of Motions in All Classifications
• Lesson 3: The Main Motion and Quorum
• Lesson 4: Subsidiary Motions
• Lesson 5: Subsidiary Motions (continued)
• Lesson 6: Privileged Motions
• Lesson 7: Incidental Motions
• Lesson 8: Motions that Bring a Question Again Before the Assembly

Each lesson is based on selected readings from Robert’s Rules of Order Newly Revised, 12^th edition. You will learn the material and test your knowledge by completing a quiz and an assignment for each lesson.

PMPC is delivered in correspondence format. It is not available in Zoom format.

Once the term begins, you will get access to all the quizzes and assignments in our online learning platform, AMCTO Connect. You will need to complete the quizzes and assignments according to a given schedule. Assignments are graded by a marker.

Each lesson in the course has a quiz and an assignment. A minimum overall grade of 60% is required to pass the course and receive a certificate of completion.

Please note: You must acquire your own copy of Robert’s Rules of Order Newly Revised, 12^th edition through a book retailer such as Indigo or Amazon. It is not provided by AMCTO. 

PMPC is one of the courses that we offer under the status of a Certified Educational Institution. Tuition fees for this course are tax-deductible. 

All cancellation requests must be sent in writing by email.

A refund levy of $100.00 +HST will be applied to cancellations received prior to the first scheduled assignment due date. No refunds will be granted for cancellations received after the first assignment due date.
