Position Overview
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the Director of Corporate Services & Treasurer plays a key leadership role as a member of the Corporate Leadership Team (CLT), providing strategic and operational oversight for all functions within the Corporate Services portfolio.
Direct reports include:
- Manager of Finance & Deputy Treasurer
- Supervisor of Information Technology
- Manager of Legislative Services & Municipal Clerk
- Asset Management Coordinator
Key responsibilities include:
- Financial planning and reporting
- Asset management
- Investments, risk management, and insurance
- Procurement and payroll services
The Director provides expert financial advice, accurate and timely reporting, and guidance to the CAO, Mayor, Council, and Corporate Leadership Team. The role supports informed decision-making, long-term fiscal sustainability, and good governance.
This position is also responsible for developing and recommending both short- and long-term financial strategies, leading the development of the Mayor’s annual budget, and fulfilling the statutory duties of the Treasurer in accordance with the Municipal Act.
