
The Town of Petawawa is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Director of Finance (Treasurer) to oversee the preparation, maintenance, and monitoring of all financial, accounting, and payroll records while fulfilling the statutory duties of Treasurer.
Description of Position
- Coordinate preparation of the annual budget process with the CAO and Department Heads.
- Supervise property taxation billing processes and reconciliation, including maintenance of the assessment roll.
- Develop and manage effective financial and cash management systems, monitoring and maintaining control over spending programs.
- Oversee applications and reconciliations of payments-in-lieu of taxes from federal and provincial sources.
- Manage remittance and reconciliation of upper-tier and education levies.
- Supervise metered water and wastewater billing processes and reconciliation.
- Supervise payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
- Manage reserves, reserve funds, investments, and debt.

Qualifications
- University degree in business administration, commerce, or finance, and a professional CA designation, as well as AMCT/CMO, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in municipal finance.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail.
Compensation
- Salary: $124,051.20 – $145,909.40 per annum, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
- Based on a 35-hour work week.
- Comprehensive health benefits plan, including a health care spending account and OMERS pension.
- Attendance at various public and other meetings outside of normal work hours will be required regularly, with time compensated in accordance with the Town’s Hours of Work and Overtime policy.
