Enterprise Process Insight & Improvement

Town of Tilsonburg

The Enterprise Process Insight & Improvement project is a high-impact initiative designed to transform the Town of Tillsonburg’s operational capacity. By creating a centralized, standardized inventory of municipal processes, this project shifts institutional knowledge from fragmented, staff-dependent silos into a foundational corporate asset.

Municipalities often face significant operational risk due to undocumented workflows. This fragmentation hinders service consistency and slows the pace of innovation. This project addresses these gaps head-on, applying an enterprise-wide 'as-is' documentation framework that builds workforce resilience and sets the stage for future digital transformation.

Working under the Manager of Innovation and Strategic Initiatives, the intern will act as a catalyst for modernization. They will collaborate across all departments to identify, classify, and index key processes. Beyond simple documentation, the intern will perform high-level analysis to pinpoint efficiencies and modernization opportunities, ensuring all outputs are structured for long-term strategic use.

The legacy of this project is a repeatable framework for continuous improvement. The resulting process repository will become an essential tool for succession planning, risk management, and evidence-based decision-making.

This role offers a graduate student a premier experiential learning opportunity. They will develop critical skills in systems thinking, stakeholder collaboration, and public sector innovation while delivering tangible, lasting value to the Town of Tillsonburg and providing a scalable model for the broader municipal sector.
