The City of Brampton is Canada’s 9th largest and fastest growing of Canada’s 25 largest cities. It is located northwest of Toronto, within close proximity to Toronto Pearson International Airport and is home to more than 75,000 businesses. The City also offers access to family friendly sports programs, free fitness programs, fully equipped community centres and indoor/outdoor facilities. 

Reporting to the City Clerk, this role is responsible for leadership, management, planning and controlling of all activities within the Council and Committee Operations section to meet operational efficiencies and the corporate goals and objectives.

The ideal candidate will hold a University degree in Public Administration or related field, plus a diploma or certificate in Municipal Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience. An accreditation as an AMCTO Member or as a Certified Municipal Officer is considered an asset. They will have a minimum of 5-7 years direct municipal experience, including supporting and managing municipal council or other deliberative body decision-making processes and meetings They will also have a minimum 3-5 years experience managing staff, including recruitment, development, engagement, retention and performance management. The candidate must have an ability to lead, coach, motivate and manage staff. Experience in Project management, municipal finance and budgeting, as well as interpreting and applying provincial and municipal legislation is required.
