Anders oversees policy and research efforts related to international affairs, trade and local economic development at the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM). He coordinates engagement between his organization and federal partners, civil society and local governments in Canada and abroad to advance priorities such as local economic development, growth and resilience. 

Prior to working on international affairs and economic issues, he advanced FCM’s sustainability priorities related to energy, transportation, land-use, waste and water. In his work he supported FCM’s Green Municipal Fund, and his expertise contributed to the development of Canada’s Emission Reduction Plan, National Adaptation Strategy, Green Building Strategy, as well as federal infrastructure and emergency management policies and programs.

He holds a Master of Urban Planning (MUP) from McGill University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from HEC Montréal. Prior to FCM, he worked in urban planning, consulting, public policy and corporate social responsibility.
