Brad brings a wealth of experience, knowledge, and extensive contacts from his distinguished 30-year political career, which includes serving in various cabinet positions. His expertise extends to the private sector as well. As senior counsel at Sussex, Brad focuses on developing Indigenous reconciliation strategies and fostering partnerships to promote Indigenous economic growth and equity opportunities.
Prior to Sussex, Brad served in elected office for almost 23 years (nine years on Scarborough/Toronto City Council, 13 years at Queen’s Park) where he held several cabinet posts. His leadership also guided the national effort to draft and implement the new Canada Free Trade Agreement, the most ambitious internal or external free trade agreement in Canadian history.
His most passionate work came during his time as Minister of Aboriginal Affairs where his relationship building skills helped transform Ontario’s relationship with Indigenous communities, making Ontario a national leader on Indigenous issues. This work enabled Brad to build friendships with Indigenous leaders and communities that continue to this day.
