Originally from Sharon, Ontario, Chris moved to northern Ontario to serve as chief administrative officer, clerk, and treasurer at the Township of Ignace, Municipality of Wawa (twice), Township of Muskoka Lakes, Township of Johnson, Township of Black River-Matheson, and now serves as chief administrative officer for the Town of Cochrane.
The broad range of duties and experiences that accompany a senior municipal position, combined with 43 years’ experience in finance and office management, have enabled Chris to gain a wealth of knowledge in finance and management. 10 years with Dun & Bradstreet Software Services Canada Ltd., a leader in the information technology industry, prepared Chris for constant change within the municipal sector.
Chris has served on many boards, including the Rural Ontario Institute (ROI), the Association of Municipal Managers Clerks and Treasurers of Ontario (AMCTO) in the capacities of vice president, president, and past president. He has also served on the boards of Local Authority Services (LAS), the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) from 2014-2018, the Rural Ontario Municipal Association (ROMA) from 2014-2018, the Municipal-Industry Program Committee (Blue Box), and the Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre (SSMIC), where he served as chairperson.
