Advocacy Update: Seeking Feedback on Issue Profile

Date Published

In 2022, the AMCTO Board of Directors approved an Issue Profile for the Association. The Issue Profile is a summary of top issues the AMCTO policy and government relations team works on proactively over a four-year period to help address policy gaps and specify ideal solutions the Association (on members' behalf) would like to see from a policy and advocacy perspective.

While the set of objectives and policy statements within the Issue Profile are not the only issues the Association engages with, they are the ones that have the most impact to you, our members, as they relate to municipal administration and day-to-day operations. As part of a wider framework in support of the policy and government relations portfolio, the Issue Profile is to be reviewed every four years to ensure that it is current and responsive to members' needs and interests.

The time has come to review the Issue Profile, and we want to hear from you! We would appreciate it if you took a moment to provide your feedback in the form linked below.

The form allows you to review some of the changes to the Issue Profile our team has begun drafting through an internal review — this included looking at and analyzing new trends in the municipal landscape, consolidating previous issues raised by members and through discussion and analysis by the Legislative and Policy Advisory Committee or LPAC (now known as the Policy and Government Relations Committee). Within the form, please prioritize the issues that are most important to you! You are also welcome to share any additional feedback, comments, or suggestions. The form will be open and available to collect feedback until Friday, July 25 at 5:00pm ET.

Thank you in advance for sharing your ideas with us! We would also like to thank those who provided feedback already at our conference this past month and for those who joined us for some meaningful discussions at our policy and government relations team office hours! Your input is extremely valuable to us and much appreciated.

Please note that policy statements may be amended and/or revised further in the final version of the Issue Profile, which we expect to go to the Board for approval in September.
