ATTENTION conference delegates, we have recently been made aware of a fraudulent scam phone call that has been circulating, asking attendees to confirm their credit card information to secure their hotel booking. Please do not provide your personal information — the hotel and AMCTO do not request payment this way. If you receive this call, please do not engage with the caller or give out any information. Please report the call as spam and notify us as soon as possible.
We have also notified our hotel partners (Deerhurst Resort, Hidden Valley Resort, Home2 Suites by Hilton, and Motel 6 Huntsville) of this scam. We take your registration and participation in the conference seriously and do not release any personal details, including registration and credit card information, as per our privacy policy and conference Terms & Conditions.
Please also be aware of potential digital phishing attempts sent via email that may circulate as the conference approaches. We have seen these attempts before and encourage you to remain diligent — do not open emails from senders you do not recognize or click on any suspicious links. AMCTO does not release delegate lists or other member information.
Please also keep the following precautions in mind:
- Do not click links, open, or download attachments from emails you do not recognize.
- Verify the email sender's address — all emails regarding conference information will come directly from an AMCTO staff member, conference@amcto.com, or amcto@amcto.com.
- Be cautious of urgent or alarming language.
- Never share your personal information, passwords, registration, or login details via email.
If you suspect you have received a spam email message, please report this to your IT department, mark the message as spam, and notify us as soon as possible.
If you are unsure if a message is legitimate, please contact your IT department and/or reach out to us directly.
Thank you for helping us to ensure a positive and safe delegate experience.
We look forward to seeing you at camp!
