As you may already be aware, recent changes to the Employment Standards Act, 2000 (ESA) include new job posting requirements that come into effect on January 1, 2026. Under the new ESA requirements, employers who publicly advertise job posting will be required to include the following information:
- Expected compensation or a range of expected compensation
- In the case of a range, this range is limited to $50,000 per year or less
- This requirement does not apply if the expected compensation is equivalent to more than $200,000 per year, or if the upper end of the range of expected compensation is equivalent to more than $200,000 per year
- Disclosure of any use of artificial intelligence (AI) during the hiring process
- Disclosure of whether the posted position is for an existing vacancy
To help you prepare for these changes, our job posting intake form has already been updated to include fields for this information. These fields will become mandatory beginning January 1, 2026 in order for us to publish your posting.
