Rob currently serves as the director of strategic communications and initiatives at the City of Mississauga. In this role, he leads the City’s communications portfolio, which includes media/social media, business communications, marketing, design, digital/website, research, and community engagement. Rob also manages key organizational programs and portfolios, including the development and advancement of the City’s equity, diversity, and inclusion program, government relations and advocacy, the City’s Strategic Plan, and the development of partnerships with key community institutions.
Before his role as director, Rob served as the chief of staff to the mayor of Mississauga and manager of intergovernmental affairs. Prior to this, he was a private sector government relations and communications consultant, working for a wide array of clients from Fortune 500 companies to charitable organizations.
Rob holds a master’s degree in political science from Queen’s University, a Master’s Certificate in Municipal Leadership from the Schulich School of Business at York University, and was a member of the 2019-2020 class of the Bloomberg-Harvard City Leadership Initiative. He is currently enrolled in the Master of Communications program at McMaster University with an expected completion in 2026. Rob lives in Mississauga with his wife and three wonderful children.
