The province has announced the 2026 allocations for the Ontario Municipal Partnership Fund (OMPF). The fund is increasing by $50 million, bringing the total funding to $600 million for 2026.
The OMPF is unconditional funding provided to 388 small, northern, and rural municipalities across the province to assist municipalities in providing critical municipal services.
As an Association, we have continued to call for stable, predictable funding that matches the value and cost of the services that municipalities provide, including by calling for the OMPF to keep pace with inflation in our 2025 Provincial Election Priorities. While we are pleased to see this additional investment in the program, we would like to see a commitment to keep the program indexed to inflation.
