Rob Trewartha

Director of Strategic Communications and Initiatives

Rob leads the City of Mississauga’s award-winning communications and marketing teams and oversees strategic organizational priorities including equity, diversity and inclusion, the City’s strategic plan, the Healthy City Strategy, and government advocacy. He brings more than 20 years of experience from both the private and public sector in politics, government advocacy, public affairs, public relations and communications. Rob recently completed the Master of Communications Management Program at McMaster University, where his thesis focused on the adoption of AI in municipal government and the role of communications. He also holds a Master of Arts in Political Science from Queen’s University, a Master’s Certificate in Municipal Leadership from the Schulich School of Business at York University, and was a member of the 2019-2020 class of the Bloomberg-Harvard City Leadership Initiative.
