This session will provide a review of current legislation and policies related to gaming under the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) and gaming under the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) (e.g., cGaming). Together, we'll examine a sample eligibility review and discuss the benefits and challenges. We will also look at current trends in gaming beyond those at the municipal level to provide insights into the broader gaming marketplace and how these can have an indirect (but important) impact on municipalities.

Learning Objectives

  • Gain insights into gaming legislation and policy
  • Understand recent changes in Ontario gaming legislation and policy
  • Understand what's involved in a basic eligibility review
  • Broaden your knowledge of the overall gaming marketplace in Ontario to be aware of and understand trends that may impact municipalities.
