As Ontario’s largest association for municipal professionals, we always look forward to celebrating Local Government Week each year during the third full week in October. This year, Local Government Week is October 18-24, 2026, and we are proud to present a revised #LocalGovWeek toolkit you can use to support celebrations and raise awareness within your municipal organizations and communities.
I encourage you to explore the toolkit linked below. This toolkit includes updated social media templates and assets you can use throughout the week to promote civic engagement, an updated council resolution, resources that highlight the complex and necessary roles of municipal staff professionals, French language resources (with others to be added in the coming weeks), and more.
Local Government Week is your organization’s opportunity to promote the amazing work being done on residents’ behalf, meaningful career opportunities, and ways residents can get involved in (PDF) and appreciate their local government (PDF). Please join us in continuing to spread the word about the importance of local government, celebrating our collective impact and successes as a sector and as proud municipal staff.
As an Association, we will continue to champion the work of members and municipal staff through the new 2027-2030 Strategic Plan, advancing local government excellence together.
