Jody is the director of legal services in the corporate services department at Halton Region, where she has practiced since September 2018.  Her areas of responsibility include legal, risk management and insurance, realty services, the office of the regional clerk, and the region’s emergency management team. 

She was previously a partner with Aird & Berlis LLP in Toronto, practicing in the area of municipal and land use planning law. Jody articled at the City of Windsor, and prior to attending law school, she was a municipal advisor with the Sudbury Municipal Services Office of the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing. She also spent five years as the chief administrative officer/clerk of the Municipality of French River. In 2019, Jody won the AMCTO Prestige Award for her service and contributions to the Association and the Ontario municipal sector. 

Jody holds a Bachelor of Arts from Laurentian University in Sudbury, a Master of Public Administration in Local Government from the University of Western Ontario, and completed her LL.B at the University of Windsor Law School. She is an active speaker, teacher, and writer on a variety of municipal topics.  Jody currently serves as the vice chair of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Halton Region branch.
