We’ll start with a guided brewery tour and tastings at Canvas, followed by a short walk to the main downtown strip, where you’ll have the opportunity to learn about Huntsville’s streetscape beautification project: Diggin’ Downtown. Our final stop on the way back to Deerhurst will be the LCBO, where you can stock up on other local craft beers to enjoy during your stay.
What's Included
- Round-trip transportation: Bus from Deerhurst Resort to tour locations and back.
- Interactive tour: Go behind the scenes of Canvas Brewing Company to learn about the ingredients, brewing process, and to try your hand at labeling a can or tasting some fresh malts. Discover the history of their craft and see firsthand how and where the magic happens.
- Guided tasting: Immediately following the tour, you will be taken through a guided tasting of three distinct Canvas beers (6-oz samples each). Learn how to properly assess craft beer as expert guides walk you through the aroma, flavour profiles, and unique characteristics of each brew.
- Small gift: To cap off the experience, each guest will receive a 16-oz can of their choice to take home as a souvenir.
- Presentation by the Town of Huntsville: Following the tour of Canvas, guests will be brought to the main street area to hear the stories behind the Diggin’ Downtown project presented by the Town of Huntsville. There’s nothing better than fresh air and the great outdoors, especially after a long drive! Come connect with nature on a guided hike to a scenic lookout point with vistas of Deerhurst and the surrounding lakes!
What's Included
- Local guide: This moderate uphill hike along marked trails will allow you to explore and observe the region’s natural scenery with stops along the way to learn something new. Our local guide will lead the group for an entire round-trip that will take approximately 1 hour. Throughout the hike, the guide will interpret the local wildlife, flora, and fauna as you make your way to the beautiful summit.
- Water and a snack: Upon check-in, participants will be provided with water and a snack to bring.
Accessibility note: Please be aware that this tour includes walking on uneven surfaces and is mostly uphill. Guests utilizing mobility devices may find it difficult to navigate this activity. Guests with chronic health conditions may want to check with a certified health professional before registering to participate. All registered participants will be required to complete a waiver form before commencing the hike.

Non-Member Price: $140.00 +HSTOur annual Awards Gala Dinner celebrates our members’ accomplishments during the year, including our academic, Zone, E.A. Danby, and Prestige Award recipients. Join us for a formal evening to recognize and honour your peers in the sector!
All 2025-2026 Award recipients will receive a free Gala ticket and a plus one to the event and will be notified in advance of the conference.
What's Included
- Access to our Pre-Gala cocktail reception, where light fare and drinks will be served starting at 6:30pm
- Drink ticket
- Formal, four-course plated dinner with wine served at the tables
- Guests will be able to make the following meal selections (up until Monday, May 25). Note that each entrée is served with seasonal vegetables and roasted potatoes:
- Braised beef short rib (7 oz.) - natural braising sauce with pearl onions
- Ballotine of chicken - filled with mozzarella and herbs, red wine reduction
- Curried vegetable biryani - coconut scented jasmine rice, cucumber raita and pineapple relish, crispy pappadum
- Guests will be able to make the following meal selections (up until Monday, May 25). Note that each entrée is served with seasonal vegetables and roasted potatoes:
- Option to reserve your table with the purchase of a Gala ticket before May 1
- The booking form for reserved seating for the Awards Gala will be available and sent directly to ticket purchasers by early May.
- To maintain the table reservation, all guests at the table must have purchased their tickets by May 1, 2026 - if all guests at the table have not purchased tickets by this deadline, the table reservation will be forfeited.
- Guests who purchase tickets after May 1 are welcome to sit wherever they choose. Please note that while there is a limited capacity for the Gala, there will always be enough seats for everyone. While guests are encouraged to book early, there is no need to reserve a table and/or to leave the Pre-Reception early to reserve seats.
