Rob returned to the City of Ottawa in late 2024, following eight years serving as chief administrative officer with two municipalities in the County of Renfrew. Rob's municipal journey began in 2001 as a committee assistant, before moving on to committee coordinator, councillor assistant, and municipal clerk roles. He currently leads the City's Council & Committee Services branch, supporting meetings of council, standing, and advisory committees.
Rob is a past president of AMCTO and also served on the Association's Ethics Advisory Committee, and assisted with supporting AMCTO accreditation programs. He holds a Master of Public Administration from Western's Local Government Program and completed coursework toward his PhD in Rural Studies at the University of Guelph, with a focus on the role of CAOs in smaller and rural places. Rob holds his Certified Municipal Officer (CMO) and Accredited Ontario Municipal Clerk (AOMC) accreditations and completed AMTOC's Diploma in Municipal Administration (DMA).
