Province Launches 2025 Budget Consultations

The Ministry of Finance is seeking input into the development of the Province’s 2025 Budget. The Province wants to know what municipalities need and want to see in the 2025 Budget. Municipalities and other interested parties can: 

The Standing Committee on Finance and Economic Affairs will hold the public hearings as follows with respective deadlines to register to speak: 

  • Timmins on December 3 — deadline: November 25;
  • Manitoulin Island on December 4 — deadline: November 25;
  • Kenora on December 5  — deadline: November 25;
  • Stratford on December 16  — deadline: December 6;
  • Ottawa on January 9  — deadline: December 27;
  • Leamington on January 14  — deadline: January 6;
  • St. Catharines on January 15  — deadline: January 6;
  • Hamilton on January 16  — deadline: January 6;
  • Stouffville on January 27  — deadline: January 17;
  • Mississauga on January 28  — deadline: January 17; 
  • Toronto on January 29  — deadline: January 17; and
  • Peterborough on January 30  — deadline: January 17.

As in prior years, we will be preparing a Pre-Budget Submission with recommendations to guide the Provincial Government in policy areas that will strengthen Ontario’s local governments. Stay tuned for details on this to be released in the new year.
