Katherine, a Mushkegowuk Cree from Attawapiskat First Nation, is a seasoned professional with over 15 years of experience in Indigenous policy and legal matters. She has provided key insights into political decision-making processes affecting Indigenous communities, focusing on land and resources, energy, environment, and infrastructure.

In her recent role as Senior Advisor of Indigenous Policy and Litigation in the Prime Minister’s Office, Katherine influenced Cabinet decisions and secured significant federal investments for Indigenous communities, addressing historic grievances and major litigation.

Katherine has also advised Federal Ministers on Indigenous policy, contributing to legislation like the Impact Assessment Act and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act. Before her political advisory roles, she practiced law, specializing in environment, energy, and Aboriginal law, advocating for a balanced approach to reconciliation, economic prosperity, and environmental respect.
