Guidelines & FAQs for Job Ads

Job Ad Guidelines

  • Once you have placed your job ad order and submitted payment, you will receive an order confirmation with a link to a job posting form to submit the details of your job description. In your job description, please be as detailed and accurate as possible — this includes checking for proper spelling, application instructions, contact information, and working website links. Please ensure you fill out all required fields, as certain details are now a requirement of the Employment Standards Act (ESA) as of January 1, 2026 —incomplete job ad submissions may not be posted.
  • Employers must now include detailed salary information and/or a salary range on job postings to be ESA compliant (as of January 1, 2026). This practice also helps to promote transparency and equity in the sector and in the hiring process.
    • In the case of a salary range, this range is limited to $50,000 per year or less
    • This requirement does not apply if the expected compensation is equivalent to more than $200,000 per year, or if the upper end of the range of expected compensation is equivalent to more than $200,000 per year
  • Employers must now include disclosure of any use of artificial intelligence (AI) during the hiring process to be ESA compliant (as of January 1, 2026)
  • Employers must now include disclosure of whether the position posted is for an existing vacancy to be ESA compliant (as of January 1, 2026)
  • Employers are encouraged to include applicable AMCTO professional designations and education courses on job postings to promote professionalism and continued professional development in the sector.
  • Job postings should include closing dates — job ad submissions that do not specify a closing date will be active on the AMCTO job board for 30 days. If you would like to renew your ad beyond 30 days, another standard or featured job ad payment will be required.
  • Our weekly job postings e-newsletter goes out to AMCTO members every Thursday.
Job ads and payments must be submitted before noon on Tuesday in order to be included in each week's email broadcast. Ads received following this deadline may not be included until the following week.
  • As a job posting platform provider, AMCTO will do its best to ensure all job information displayed on the AMCTO job board is as true and accurate as possible to the best of our knowledge and ability. We encourage members and others to report any inaccuracies, questions, or concerns about job postings to us directly.
    • Any reports of fraudulent postings or postings containing errors or inaccuracies will be investigated by AMCTO and verified with the HR representative to the best of our ability to be corrected and/or removed as soon as possible.
    • Any reports of fraudulent postings or postings containing errors or inaccuracies will be saved for record-keeping by AMCTO for a period of three (3) years per ESA requirements (as of January 1, 2026).
